Pure. Uncompromised. Made by hand, dried by sun.
The Brand
Herbs & Spices is an artisan sub-brand born from Jaygee Industries' 50-year dedication to honest, natural incense. Where our other lines draw from India's masala traditions, Herbs & Spices reaches into the sacred forests of South America — beginning with Palo Santo, the holy wood of the Andes.
Every cone in this line is a deliberate act of craft. There is no machine pressing. No shortcut. No compromise on what goes — or does not go — inside. These are incense cones in their most elemental form: pure botanical material, pressed by hand, set by sun, finished by time.
Nothing but Palo Santo wood dust — no carrier powders, no charcoal, no chemical binders of any kind.
Each cone is individually hand-pressed. No automated moulding. Variation is proof of authenticity.
Cones are dried slowly under natural sunlight. No forced heat, no ovens — preserving the living aroma of the wood.
Made in limited quantities to retain the character and quality of genuine cottage production.
The Origin
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is a wild tree native to the dry coastal forests of Peru, Ecuador, and the Galápagos. For centuries, indigenous communities of South America have burned its wood in rituals of purification, healing, and spirit communication.
What makes Palo Santo extraordinary is what happens after the tree dies naturally. The sacred resin within the heartwood continues to mature for years — sometimes decades — after the tree has fallen. Only naturally fallen trees are used. Not a single living tree is cut.
We import whole Palo Santo logs directly from authenticated Peruvian suppliers. The logs are milled into fine dust in Bangalore, then hand-pressed into cones on the same day — preserving the freshness of the aromatic oils within.
The Craft
No machines. No moulds. Each cone is pressed by hand — which is why no two are perfectly identical, and why each one carries the honest character of something truly made.
"Variation between cones is not a defect — it is the signature of something genuinely hand-made. A machine-pressed cone is uniform. Ours are not, and that is the point."
The Standard
Every ingredient decision — including the ones made by not adding anything — is intentional. This is what goes into our cones, and what does not.
The sole ingredient. Milled from whole Peruvian Palo Santo logs. The dust is pressed as-is — no dilution, no blending with cheaper materials.
Pressed by hand into cone form using natural pressure alone. No binders, no glues, no mechanical assistance.
Slow-dried under open sunlight. This preserves the full volatile oil profile of the wood — the sweet, woody, citrus notes that make Palo Santo distinctive.
Charcoal is used in mass-market cones to make them burn easier. It also burns with fumes and masks aroma. None here.
No added perfume oils, synthetic aromatic compounds, or fragrance enhancers. The scent is entirely the wood's own.
No wood powder substitutes, no sawdust fillers, no chemical binders such as DHP or glycol. Every gram is Palo Santo.
The Product
12 handmade cones · Available on pre-order
Made to order in small batches. These cones are not kept as running stock. Each batch is pressed fresh upon confirmed order. Place your enquiry and we will confirm the timeline and pack availability directly.
Using Your Cones
Palo Santo cones burn slowly and gently. Because there is no charcoal accelerant, they need a moment of care at the light — and repay it with a richer, longer burn.
Hold the cone tip to a flame for 15–20 seconds — longer than a standard cone. Pure wood needs more time to catch.
Blow out the flame to leave a steady, glowing ember at the tip. A thin curl of fragrant smoke will begin to rise.
Set the cone on a fireproof holder, ceramic dish, or sand tray. Let it rest undisturbed in the space you wish to fill.
Allow the warm, woody-citrus smoke of Palo Santo to clear the air. When finished, press the ember firmly to extinguish. Never leave unattended.
The Terms of This Brand
Herbs & Spices exists because we refused to make these cones any other way. The moment we scale beyond what hand-pressing allows, the product changes. So we don't.
That means this brand operates on terms that protect the integrity of what's inside every pack.
We take pre-orders for confirmed quantities. This ensures every batch is pressed fresh and no cones sit in stock losing their aroma.
We are open to developing exclusive or gift packaging for your specific requirements — retail boxes, gift sets, event packs. Enquire for details.
These cones are not available for white label or private label. The Herbs & Spices brand identity stays with every pack.
We will not alter the formula to reduce cost, increase volume, or match a lower price point. The recipe is fixed by principle, not economics.
